(DG PARO) verbreitet. Zum Autor: Iain Chapple ist Professor für Parodontologie und Dekan für Zahnmedizin an der University of Birmingham (UK). Er war wissenschaftlicher Herausgeber des British Dental Journals, stellvertretender Herausgeber des Journal of Periodontal Research und ist derzeit stellver- tretender Herausgeber des Journal of Clinical Periodontology. Er schrieb acht Lehrbücher und mehr als 20 Buchkapitel. Chapple war Schatzmeister der European Federation of Periodontology (EFP; 2007–2013), Mitorga- nisator der Perio-Workshops, Vorsitzender des Scientific Advisory Commitee und Heraus- geber des JCP Digest (2014–2016) sowie Generalsekretär der EFP (2016–2019). Im Jahr 2012 wurde er mit der „Tomes Medal of the Royal College of Surgeons of England“ ausgezeichnet. 2018 gewann Chapple den „IADR Distinguished Scientist Award“ in Periodontal Research.
